Abstract
Bridges are vital infrastructure that facilitate public mobility and the distribution of goods and services. Consequently, their structural systems must ensure safety, serviceability, and compliance with prevailing technical standards. The Pelangi Kolaka Bridge, a steel truss bridge located in Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, was constructed in 2014. This study evaluates the performance of its existing superstructure according to SNI 1725:2016, AASHTO LRFD 2017 (8th edition), and the 2021 Practical Guidelines for Bridge Design. The methodology includes field inspections, collection of primary data on the bridge condition and geometric model, and secondary data regarding load standards and element inspection criteria. Structural modeling and analysis were conducted using SAP2000 V.26 to determine responses under relevant load combinations. Results indicate that the maximum axial forces under Load Combination 1 occur in the stringers (1,128.686 kN), upper chord (-6,645.17 kN), lower chord (4,497.196 kN), diagonal trusses (±2,910.14 kN), and wind bracing (-202.879 kN). Element assessments reveal that the stringers, upper chord, lower chord, and wind bracing do not satisfy the latest SNI requirements, while the diagonal trusses and cross beams comply with the standards. These findings highlight the need for further evaluation and dimensional adjustments of non-compliant components to ensure that the bridge superstructure meets contemporary bridge design standards.
