Abstract

This research presented The Impact of Kahoot Application on Students’ Vocabulary Mastery at the First Grade Students of SMP Negeri 1 Wundulako. The design of this research was quasi-experimental, using a non-equivalent control group design. The variables of this research consisted of two variables, namely the Kahoot application as the independent variable and students' vocabulary mastery as the dependent variable. The samples in this research were students of class VII.4 and VII.5 of SMP Negeri 1 Wundulako. Class VII.4 consisted of 29 students and class VII.5 consisted of 29 students. This research used instruments in the form of tests consisting of pre-tests and post-tests. Data collection techniques in this research were pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The results showed that there was an effect of the application of Kahoot in teaching vocabulary mastery to first-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Wundulako. This could be seen from the post-test mean score (62.24), which was higher than the pre-test means score (45.86) in the experimental class. The results showed that the significance value (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05 indicated a significant difference between the student's vocabulary mastery before and after using Kahoot. The alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted, and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected.
